Gasoline Prices Fall Again

A little update on the gasoline front here in Massachusetts–last night I was driving and saw gasoline for $3.79 a gallon! I only needed a few gallons, but I couldn’t resist stopping. What’s even more shocking is that less than a mile away, I saw gasoline selling for $3.99 and $4.15 a gallon.

Apparently, gasoline prices have fallen for 15 staright days and the national average is now about $3.90 a gallon. That’s definitely good news for consumers who’ve been pinching pennies just get get to work.

Last week in Cabot Wealth Advisory, I asked readers to let us know how they are coping with the rising costs of food and fuel, here’s a response I got from one of our readers.

“We recently gave all of our employees a $300 gas card. You would have thought we gave them the world. They were so appreciative and thankful. I’m sure this is an indication that high gas cost is of major concern to middle America. I don’t believe our elected officials fully realize the seriousness of four-dollar gas.”–D.A.

Happy driving!

For a variety of reasons we’ve highlighted in our newsletters, we believe a long-term investor should be optimistic on stocks. We’re not bullish yet, but looking out over time, the market has already suffered a 9-month, 25% bear market, so in general the next big move is likely up.
